Freedom Central understands that tomorrow the Labour party will select their candidate to replace Lorraine Barrett in Cardiff South and Penarth
This follows on from the recent selection of their new Assembly candidate in Pontypridd, as well as Brian Gibbons’ recent announcement that he will be standing down, and movement in selecting for the – very long shot for Labour - seat of Blaenau Gwent.
All this raises the question of why there has been no talk of when a selection process will take place in Cardiff West, or if there has, why it has been kept very quiet? That is despite many Labour insiders warning that the seat is seriously under-threat in 2011.
Perhaps a change of plan is in the air?

Vaughan Gething’s selection website is laugh-a-minute.
He proudly claims to have narrowly beaten an independent councillor in 2004, but conveniently forgets that he got an absolute walloping four years later by the Lib Dem candidate. So much for a brilliant record of service.
But then, he never was any good at selection contests, was he?

Any idea who the Labour candidate for Ponty is?
They have selected Mick Antoniw, a solicitor who lives in Newport and works for Thompsons solicitors in Cardiff.
