It’s just over two months since we moved to our new redesigned home – and we are beginning to get more people visiting the site.
In both June and July we came within a whisker of topping 5000 hits a month from well over 1000 users. We seem to be getting a dedicated band of regular followers who like what they read – hence why they keep coming back. I’d anticipate over August this will drop as the holiday season kicks in before picking up again in September and October as Westminster, the Assembly and Councils get back to work and conference season rolls into view.
More people are linking in and out to us, mostly with helpful comments so thanks to the many of you doing that. Our busiest day was Euro results day with over 750 hits largely due to the live election coverage – I’ll be asking the party if they can do it again as so many people clearly found it useful.
Compared to other websites I’ve seen figures for the team here have viewership to be proud of. But, contrasting our performance with the more established and UK wide Lib Dem Voice, we still have some way to go. This month they got over 20 times the number of absolute unique visitors we did.
We are always looking for copy. So if you want to talk to other members or bounce an idea around amongst some Lib Dems let us know. Suggestions for other improvements are of course welcome too.

Happy birthday Freedom Central.
Love the blog, Think it works well as a format. It’s good to see a variety of opinions – and also some people not toeing the party line! Quite unusual for an official party blog.
It will be nice to see more from the other conributors though, and a bit less Peter Black.

Thanks Carys.. Peter has been great but I think he’d like to see others doing more too (including me.. and others reading this).
We aren’t an ‘official’ party blog, rather a blog run by members of the Welsh Lib Dems. Sometimes we ask people who work for and more commonly are elected in the party to write for us, but we aren’t bound by official lines. Hopefully that is the reason for the range of opinions.. and long may it last
