And Clegg’s chief of staff said it, and then there was a climbdown, because they realised how bad it sounded, and now the party in Wales is using the same language to attack another party. One word. Tacky.

I’m sure Yvette Cooper used ‘savage cuts’ on q.time last night. These are savage cuts, spades are spades.. if we’re looking for £90bn from Westminster, it’s going to be savage, very savage – questions is where the savage falls, not if the savage happens. At least Clegg had the guts to say it.

We’re talking about two different budgets here. Cable & Clegg were thinking of the Westminster government’s payroll and, in any case, their proposals were targeted differently.
