Kirsty Williams visits Porth Remploy, e-cycle / electronics

Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader, Kirsty Williams marked International Day for Disabled Persons on Thursday, by visiting the Remploy processing facility in Porth where some 99 local people are employed.

Commenting she said: “This day is all about highlighting the challenges faced by people with a disability in their everyday lives. Sadly, many people still find it difficult to get work experience or full employment.”

“Today, I visited Remploy in Porth where disability is no barrier to success. Not only is the factory employing, training and supporting 60 local people but it’s doing highly technical data cleansing work and establishing itself as world class.”

“Remploy in Porth is a real success story, you can see that staff love working here and it’s vital that the Government continues to support Remploy and organizations like them. In a tough job market, it’s more important than ever that people with a disability are supported, if needed, to train and find work in all sectors of the economy”
