It would be radical Mr. Chief...instead of cycling being a pursuit for leisure and play cycling could be used much more for commuting ...the different to society in the long term would be perhaps less obesity, heart disease , its also safer and much greener and less expensive ..there would be no pressure to own a car and the debt associated with it, the maintenance, car insurance, road tax etc. I have a mountain bike and an electric bicycle which only cost £330, motorcycle throttle, charge battery up on mains, absolutely fab
and gos along up the hills ,it cruises at 12mph,

I think banning all cars would be a bit radical - and wouldn't necessarily go down too well with the electorate as a whole. Hopefully we can work towards more park and ride sites covering key routes into the city such as the A470. We're also seeing more people commuting in Cardiff by bike - something which will no doubt increase further if we keep on investing in cycling facilities. Copenhagen too such an approach over a nunber of years and now has about 50% of commuters travelling by bike.

It's a shame not all councils in Wales have such a positive view of environmental concerns. Anyway the next step for Cardiff could be to make it a cycle and bus only city!!!
Bus lanes and cycle lanes only... it would really make Cardiff stand out , not just in the UK but in Europe
