Building the party

The expected backlash against the coalition government is clearly much delayed. Latest reports from Liberal Democrat Federal Headquarters in Cowley Street is that fewer than 100 people had left since the coalition was announced four days ago, while more than 400 had joined. The party gained more than 1500 members over the election campaign.

The Libs will be hated in Wales for a generation… they’ll be less popular than pedos. Clegg is from the same toff background as Cameron and took about 2 seconds in his lust for power to sell out every principal the Libs said they stood for. The Libs will be lucky to keep their deposit in Ceredigion next time round

Well Pete – sounds like we’ve got your vote!!
Labour is being blame quite rightly by for letting ‘the left down’ – not the Lib Dems from the people I speak to – but perhaps they are more open minded than the people you talk to.

When people leave a Party they dont usually resign they just fail to renew. the real figure is probably somewhere between Cowley sts 100 & the 4% (2,400) suggested by the LDV survey. Its sad to lose anyone but the Party as a whole wont be damaged.
