Latest figures show that Unemployment in Wales fell by 5,000 or 1.1% in the three months to September.
This is clearly good news. Together with the recent GDP figures, these are signs that the economy is healing, but there must be no room for complacency.
The Welsh Liberal Democrats know that what matters to people is not abstract numbers and for everyone who is unemployed, it is a personal tragedy. More must be done to help people get into employment. Yesterday I welcomed the news that 4,000 temporary job opportunities have been created, but the Welsh Government needs to ensure that these temporary positions help young people find long-term meaningful employment.
