The BBC report that Plaid Cymru Leader, Leanne Wood has called for a change in the law might be needed to make sure more women are elected to the Welsh assembly.
She said that measures to select female candidates in her own party “are not always at their strongest”. The Assembly’s Presiding Officer Rosemary Butler has also said she wants more women elected after a decline.
However, no details of the proposed law change have been given. Without these it seems that the Plaid Leader may just be chasing headlines rather than taking a serious position on the issue.
